Boxer's pal among 4 arrested

LAHORE - City police Saturday captured four suspects including a close friend of former police inspector Abid Boxer from Lahore and Kasur on the suspicion of their involvement in the killing of Dr Abdul Saboor Malik.
According to a police source, two suspects were arrested from Kasur while the other two were arrested from Lahore. One of the two arrested from Kasur was identified as Nadir Gujjar. He was common friend of Dr Saboor and Abid Boxer and fled from the country after he (boxer) was booked in a murder case of a senior army officer and his family members.
The arrest came after the police officials got some important tips from various sources. â€Å“We got information from Dr Saboor’s cell phone, his family members and some of the information was collected from the deceased’s colleague doctors”, a police investigator told this scribe requesting anonymity. He said Dr Saboor was business partner of Abid Boxer and Nadir Gujjar as they used to purchase valuable disputed property at throwaway price.
They were actively running their property business in posh areas of Lahore and Kasur districts.
While unfolding their business, police investigators revealed that Dr Saboor was playing his role as an investor in the trade of disputed property while Boxer and Gujjar used to grab the property by force, as the said two persons were known for their criminal activities in their respective districts.
They all three earned millions of rupees and purchased huge properties in this way. He said after Boxer̢۪s escape from the country, the friends - Dr Saboor and Nadir Gujjar - turned into foe over the issue of joint properties̢۪ ownership. The police investigator claimed that Dr Saboor might have been murdered on the said issue of business dispute.
